E learning in record time– Lean qualification during the pandemic

Standing still was never an option for me. Especially in times of crisis, people need orientation, development and collaboration. So we took action.

A large automotive manufacturer faced a question that many companies were asking at that time:

How do we qualify our employees when we are no longer allowed to meet?

Within a very short time, we created a solution that did more than just bridge the gap. It truly engaged and motivated people.

In an exceptionally short period, we built a fully fledged, professional qualification system including:

• production of e learning videos that were clear, structured and didactically sound

• implementation of a complete learning management system (LMS)

• integration of digital learning software solutions

• development of a blended learning concept combining digital and live elements

• live sessions via Teams and Zoom

• interactive learning units with quizzes, reflections, upload tasks and practical examples

• clearly defined learning paths for different target groups

All of this happened at a time when many other projects were paused.

Our project continued and became a full success.

What made the difference was not speed alone.

It was about making learning effective, engaging and motivating.

Through:

• modular learning videos

• self learning phases

• interactive tasks

• regular feedback loops

• live workshops for exchange

• clear learning objectives and measurable outcomes

the qualification system ensured that employees stayed connected despite physical distance and did not just understand Lean, but were able to apply it in practice.

What started as an emergency solution became a strategic advantage:

• qualification programs continued without interruption

• hundreds of employees learned Lean digitally

• the organization became faster and more flexible

• the LMS evolved into the central learning platform

• the e learning system is still in use today

In the middle of a global crisis, something was created that continues to benefit the company long term. A modern learning architecture that brings Lean and work organization into the digital future.

Because it shows that crises do not paralyze organizations if they are willing to act creatively and courageously.

While the world stood still, this project proved that learning and development are always possible.

And that digital learning is not a compromise, but a powerful way to reach people everywhere.
